At the beginning of July, Dr. Misti Sharp's virtual exchange (VE) partner Dr. Marija Cerjak visited the UF campus, and both faculty met with Carrie Martins, Coordinator of Faculty Development Initiatives in the Office of Global Learning, to discuss how to expand on their existing VE collaboration. Dr. Cerjak is a Professor in the Department of Marketing and Innovation in Agribusiness at the University of Zagreb in Croatia, and Dr. Sharp is an Instructional Associate Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator in the Food and Resource Economics Department at UF. The two professors implemented their VE project on Agritourism in the U.S. and Croatia for the first time in Spring 2024 and are now planning the next iteration for Spring 2025. During the meeting, they discussed how to update the VE project based on their past experience, establish some connections between their VE and the study abroad program that UF runs in Zagreb, and establish new VE partnerships between the two institutions.
