Last week at the Interface Teaching Conference 2024, organized by the UF Center for Teaching Excellence, several Global Learning Community of Practice members received awards for their curriculum internationalization efforts and completion of global learning professional development programs. Congratulations to Prof. Bahar Armaghani, awarded the Global Learning Experiences Exemplary Online Teaching Award by the Center for Teaching Excellence in 2024! Prof. Armaghani, from the Sustainability and the Built Environment (SBE) Program, earned this award for her delivery of the course DCP4214: Green Building Strategies, LEED Lab, with a virtual exchange (VE) component that was created in partnership with instructors at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland, SENAI CIMATEC in Brazil, and the University of Texas at Dallas.
Congratulations to Dr. Luis Mejia-Puig, awarded the Rising Star Award by the Center for Teaching Excellence in 2024! Dr. Mejia-Puig, from the Department of Interior Design, earned this award for his participation in teaching-related professional development programs, such as the Global Learning Institute in Spring 2022 and co-facilitating a workshop on virtual exchange in Spring 2024. With the help of these programs, Dr. Mejia-Puig partnered with faculty from Universidad Autonoma de Occidente and Universidad Icesi in Colombia to create an interactive collaboration between students from both institutions.
Congratulations to Dr. Amy Parziale, awarded the Rising Star Award by the Center for Teaching Excellence in 2024! Dr. Parziale, from the Management Communication Center in the Warrington College of Business, earned this award for her participation in teaching-related professional development programs, including the Global Learning Institute in Spring 2023 and the Fall 2023 Virtual Exchange Training. With the help of these programs, Dr. Parziale partnered with Prof. Carlos Sidarta da Silva from Universidade do Vale do Itajaí in Brazil to create an interactive collaboration between students from both institutions.
