Former UFIC Dean, Dr. David Sammons, and his wife Becky Sammons have again generously contributed to the Study Abroad Services (SAS) Scholarship Fund. Every year, the UF International Center sponsors a large number of study abroad students who would have not been able to accomplish their education abroad goals if not for this important financial support. UFIC is very grateful for the Sammons’ generosity and passion about providing international education to UF students.

Prof. Alpa Nawre and Michael Kung just came back after leading a group of 3 Landscape Architecture masters students to several villages in central India. The trip was quite successful, and they were able to see multiple existing projects that their students were working on. They stopped by two main sites in two states, and at one site, their students paired up with students from a nearby university (NIT Raipur), and were able to observe and interview villagers and community leaders/government officials. They conducted similar activities at the other site, and the students were featured in a local newspaper.
