UF engineering faculty members, Jeremiah Blanchard, and Mariko Adachi of Kyoto University organized a cross-cultural engineering seminar series for students. Kevin Butler, Kansun Cho, Andrea Goncher, Hitomi Greenslet, Amanpreet Kapoor, Gloria Kim, and John Schueller were the other UF faculty. Takehiko Yokomine, Shu Seki, Kazuaki Yorozu, Kentaro Kaneko, Yosuke Komiyama, and Hiroshi Takatsu represented Kyoto University for the three seminars in October and three in November. The students attending the two-hour seminars were broken into small USA-Japan groups to discuss such topics as human-centered design, automation, signal processing linguistics, the future of the home, and technology and manufacturing for a sustainable society.
Congrats to all for this successful global collaboration!
