The University of Florida International Center (UFIC) recently had the honor of hosting Dr. Kaoru Kitajima and Ms. Danielle Reed from Kyoto University. Dr. Kitajima, a distinguished forest ecologist, brings an impressive portfolio with approximately 40 years of research experience across tropical regions in America, Asia, and Africa. Additionally, Dr. Kitajima holds the positions of Vice-Director of Kyoto University’s International Strategy Office and the Vice-Dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture. Ms. Reed serves as the Coordinator of the Kyoto University North America Center, presently operating out of Washington, D.C. This visit is particularly significant as the University of Florida and Kyoto University are actively engaged in an existing exchange agreement, and both sides were able explore avenues for enhancing and broadening this partnership, focusing on increasing opportunities for global engagement among students and faculty.
