Building on a collaboration initiated through a joint virtual exchange project, Drs. Pasha Antonenko and Andrea Ramirez Salgado from UF and Dr. Nadia Rosero from Universidad ICESI in Colombia have now been awarded funding from 100,000 Strong in the Americas to further engage their students and other faculty in exploring applications of artificial intelligence to strengthen the chili value chain. The project will include a new virtual exchange project, a physical mobility opportunity for 3 ICESI students to take a course on AI at UF, and training for ICESI faculty on developing a curriculum for a course on AI.

The UF in London Technological Applications for Disability Access program, developed through a collaboration between Learn International (LI), the University of Florida’s Disability Resource Center (DRC), and Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE), is an innovative study abroad experience aimed at fostering inclusion and accessibility. Dr. Muthusami Kumaran, Associate Professor of Nonprofit Management & Community Organizations, Department of Family, Youth & Community Sciences (FYCS), CALS/IFAS has just received a grant from the U. S. Embassy – Bishkek for a project to train NGO/nonprofit leaders in the Kyrgyz Republic, Central Asia. 

During this six-month grant project, Dr. Kumaran will train 100 NGO leaders from the capital city of Bishkek and two other cities of Osh and Karakol across Kyrgyzstan to enhance their organizational management skills for resource mobilization and community relations.
